Yokohama Tyres
I'm looking at the possibilty of using my contacts with Yokohama to offer a Scoobynet buying scheme.
The tyres available would be Yokohama AVS Sport and we'd be looking a stupidly cheap prices.
I know Yokos are not well used in Subaru circles but I've found them to be pretty good on my cars over the last 15 months or so.
The sizes I'm looking at are:
205/50-16
205/45-17
215/45-17
225/45-17
Please PM me if you are looking at different sizes to these, particularly the 18 inch conversion sizes out there. A condition of the deal will be that it is only for acknowledged Subaru sizes and conversion sizes.
Chris

oh yeah,
18 inch sizes for the classics tend to be 215/35 r18
as for the new age cars i think they tend to be 225/40 r18 but i could be completely wrong

Just out of interest, I have AVS Sport tyre that I am trying to get shot of. 225/35 18 with 7mm of good tread and looks like new.
It's done 2k600 appox.
How much do you think it's worth?
I have it on eBay at present.
Steve
PS. Mods I am not trying to sell the item just want a ruff idea as to its worth.

Sorry to put the downers on things however I ran 224/40/18 AVS Yoko's for 15K miles and they drove me nuts with a droaning noise from the rear. The don't seem to wear evenly on the Scooby and I did rotate them front to back every six months/5000 miles. I even took it in to have the bearings / diff checked. Noise dissappeared with the tyres.
I'm much happier with the Goodyear F1's I've got on now.
Regards,
Ian

I have always rated Yoko's highly.
Depending on price, 225/45-17 set of 4.
(AVS Sport and Parada)

Also interested if they really are cheap - 215/35/18s, 215/40/17s and even the original MY00 205/50(?)/16s...

I could be interested in 2 sets. 1 X 215 40 17 and 1 X 205 55 16 although I could consider 205 50 16.
