Question

Following an encounter with a pot hole, my MY00 is in the process of shaking itself to pieces. I had the tracking / geometry done at Falkland yesterday, but it is still there. The guy yesterday essentially said that either the balance was out, or the alloy was damaged, anybody know of anywhere in the area where I can get a definite answer?
Don't really want to be driving up and down to inverness this weekend while it is still like this.

Cheers

Depends where you are!

I use Swift Tyres in Whitburn. Call John Swift on 01501 741548 and tell him that Mark sent you.

Question

Mark,

Can they do 4 wheel alignment and Prodrive geometry setup? Are they're tyre prices competitive as well?

I work in Livingston, so would be handy for me.

Stefan

They can give an excellent price on tyres, especially the Toyo's but also SO2's, etc. Don't forget to ask for a Subaru discount!

For wheel alignment they can adjust toe but not camber. Everyone seems to recommend Falkland as being the best for this.

I work in Livingston too! Close to the M8 jct 3A. Where are you?

Regards

Mark

Cheers Mark, I stay in Glasgow, so unless they open in the evenings, I could not make it there until a week Saturday (assuming they are open at the weekend)

Will have to ask them for a price on S03s anyway, I have lots of grip in the dry, but close to nothing in the wet at the moment

Thumbs up

Stefan, I've used Swifts for years...with no problems. I live less than 2 miles away. Tyres are well priced although for the best price on SO2/3, you cannot beat Micheldever delivered to the door. 4 SO2's delivered cost £470 for the Evo 225/45 17"

Jim is the man to ask for doing the alingments.

Robertio, yes they are open on Saturdays, although just in the morning. Best to call them and let them know you are coming.

Hi Mark,

I'm on holiday at the mo and about to start a new job next week. Will be based at J3 of the M8 just outisde the Deer Park country club. Small world eh!

John,

I was quote £126 per corner for S02 17"s by Cooper Bros (Newmains, Wishaw). That was including fitting, balancing, etc.

I though I would save a lot more from Micheldever to make it worthwhile.

Guess a trip to Falkland is in order one Saturday morning. Wanted to make the RR day a while back and was disappointed that not enough people could make it.

Thought you might want to know that Budget Tyres in Paisley are willing to deal if you buy full set. I got 4 P Zeros fitted and balanced for £400. They also were offering SO2's at that price.

Also just got geometry done at Falkands and the difference is night and day. I would recommend them

Talking

Za,

Are those 16" or 17" tyres? If there 17"s, then they're £100 cheaper than anywhere I've seen. Are you getting me all excited over just 16"s?

£400 was for 4 205/50 x 16 's however the deal was any 4 for £400. Its worth a call.
