Thumbs up Group buy on ROTA 18" Wheels and Tyres... updated to include 17"

Update........

This group buy is now closed...

A big thanks to Rare Rims for allowing this to happen, and to all that have participated in it.

Hi everyone,

I've put a group buy together for Rota wheels which will be supplied by RareRims based down in Devon.

As some of you will know after much deliberation I bought a set a couple of weeks ago and they are very high quality and I'm really pleased to say the least.
There have been quite a lot of positive comments about the Rota Range and I for one never realised just how world wide that range is, Julian from RareRims has agreed on a great package and a wide range to choose from all of which will be 18" this time around

In brief to start there are GRA, Subzero and Formula Mesh wheels available in various colours which I will list out in more detail below....
the Formula Mesh are new age wheels only... bugeye on that is

I've got pictures of some at the moment and I'll update this post when I have the rest...... so here goes,

ROTA GRA (Tarmac II) 18x7.5 et48

Gold

Cadnium Pearl

Gunmetal

Gunmetal with polished face

SteelGrey

Bronze

Silver

.................................................. .................................................

Subzero 18x7.5 et48

Silver with lip

Gunmetal with lip

.................................................. .................................................. .

Formula Mesh 18x8 et48 *Bugeye onwards only*

Gold

SteelGrey

Silver
.................................................. .................................................. ...

Right now for the details

10 orders are needed to get this rolling so let me list the deal out...

There are 2 choices of tyre... Toyo's or Kumho's

The normal prices for these are...
With Toyo's T1R's £899
With Kumho's £739

For the Group Buy the prices will be...........

With Toyo's T1R 215/35/18 or T1R 225/40/18 it will be £760

With Kumhos 215/35/18 or 225/40/18 it will be £640

That's a set of 4 fitted and balanced
All of these come complete with wheels nuts and locks included.

Anyone wishing to purchase just the alloy with no tyre the standard price is £515 but for the GB the price will be £380 for a set.

Fantastic offer I think you will all agree.....
*Postage is not included in the price above* (I'll confirm what that is)

When we have 10 on the list we can get this going.... I will not be dealing with any of the orders myself this will be done direct with Julian when the GB becomes live, I'll add the contact info then

So what do you think guys ??

Regards
Simon

.................................................. ..................................................

Updated to include 17's

Torque - silver bronze gunmetal
Boost - Silver, gold, gunmetal, steelgrey
SDR's - silver steelgrey gold, gunmetal
Grids, - black, gunmetal with lip, bronze, silver with lip

*Please note not all colours and styles are available in 17"*

What we will do is when we have the numbers each person can then talk to Julian and see exhactly what is available, I think that will be by far the easiest way to work this or it will get to confusing.

These are not available in 17"

GRA bronze 17"
GRA silver 17"
Subzero gunmetal with lip 17"

No formula mesh 17" (they dont make it!)

The prices for 17" are as follows..
17's with Toyo 215/45/17 T1R - £640
thats with wheels at £350 and tyres at cost.

On a personal note that is the best I can get Julian down to....
The best deals to be had this time around are on 18's without a doubt but the
17's are still a reasonable price and the quality speaks for itself with the Rota's.

Check out the website for more info http://www.rarerims.co.uk/

.................................................. ..........................................

I've edited the thread this morning 12/10 to add this below, since there have been a few tech questions asked.

I have contacted Julian and regarding any supply or fitment questions by far the best thing to do is to contact him direct for this information.... what I don't want is to act as a middle man for any of these questions as the last thing I want is for anyone's wheels not to fit should they decide to order any.

He does not bite

Contact details are

http://www.rarerims.co.uk/

01363 777007

info@rarerims.co.uk

Just let Julian know it is in relation to the possible group buy
( 10 names needed )

Hopefully that should help clear up the more complex side of things

Simon

Maybe next time.

Thumbs up

Simon,

Top man for sorting this out. :

Just one question - is the group buy just on those wheels you've listed? I only wondered because I quite fancy the 17" SDRs for my classic?

Cheers,
Steve

I'm checking on that also but what I will say is that why take a chance of getting the tyres fitted somewhere else where they could potentially damage the rims.... 35mm walls are devils to fit.
I don't think you will find tyres anywhere more competitive than this IMHO.

Spider, Swen6, Pabel, With reference to 17's I have been in contact with Julian and he is putting some prices together so hopefully in the next day or so I'll be able to update the thread to include those.

pabel you could always put a call out in the members gallery for Red Scoobys or check out Dave's http://www.scoobyphotos.com/index.php to see what's in there. Personally I would consider Bronze as an option if available

Not as far as I'm aware.... you just need the correct off set and tyre size, Julian will be able to advise you in more detail on that. I'm running 18's on my saloon and have not had any problems and I'm running quite low.

Are you absolutely sure that they can supply the Tarmac II's in Bronze???? (18")
I have dealt with Rota before through E-mail, and they said that they have stopped producing them in that colour as it didnt sell very well!!??

As long as we buy 10 sets, we could get them in any colour, green, pink, purple with a brown flip if needed

Very very interested. All I have to do now is convince the missus that I need new rims.

Anyone know whether 18's would make a standard MY03 WRX look like it is on stilts or would they just fill the arches nicely?

Cheers everyone
