Default Volvo V70 owners

If anyone has one of these fine-handling, sporty little numbers (the early 96-97 ones), could you tell me the cam belt interval, as I've lost the service book.

1997 2.5 CD

Also, do you need to spend £37 on a service interval reset tool, or is there a way round?
(PS the new ones have a 18000 mile service interval - not sure I'd dare go that long!)

cheers
