Angry Beware of Directline Insurance and PPP

I've been insured with DL for 2 years, WRX 03 PPP. After I had explained the PPP to the agent, who check with their underwriters, they advised it would be registered as a WRX Prodrive.

Following advice on another thread on, I called to make sure they knew what the PPP modifications were and again they checked with the underwriters. They advised me that the car had not been insured correctly and now required a tracker before they would consider insuring it again!!!

I will of course not be renewing with DL and will be cancelling my wifes policy with them too, just in case they have listed her Freelander incorrectly, useless bunch of..........

Anyone with PPP, and insurance with this company, please check your policy.

And as another thread mentions Privilege giving an amazing quote for a WRX PPP, I seriously doubt from bitter experience that they know their **** from their elbow either.

Privilege = Direct Line > they are the same company for anyone who doesn't already know.

It seems my days of Subaru ownership may be nearing the end. An Evo 8/9 seems very appealing, especially as the insurance companies are aware of the FQ range, why not PPP?
