Question

Had a bit of a shock at the weekend. I was talking to my wife about picking our car up next week, and she said that she was looking forward to driving it as well. She's a fairly sedate driver, so I asked her why she particularly wanted to drive it.

"Well......it's a girlie car isn't it?" she said!!!

I've heard the scoob described in a number of different ways, but a "girlie" car???????

What do you think?

Pete

I'm a girlie, but would describe it as a lean, mean driving machine, s**t off a shovel, boombastic, fantastic, mmmmm...

Stu,

You forgot to mention that you should always check the mileage, service schedule and maintanence costs when considering a newer model... You may also want to contact the previous registered keeper...

My wife likes the pink STi badges and think they make it look a bit girly.

Question

If I replace my regular Subaru badge with a "girlie pink one" what do you reckon is the likelyhood of my girlie changing her opinion of the car from to

Divorce/sacking the wife...........mmmm, not too keen on that idea. You spend all that time and effort getting her working the way you want, and then you've got to go through all the trouble of running in a new model. Naah!

Ours will be a standard scoob, so it's nothing to do with pretty pink badges. She did go on about the colour though (DBM), saying that it was a nice "bluey violet"!

I too considered divorce recently, when trying to discuss a possible car change with my 'good lady', after she said "It's just a car!".

Having said that, she does have a wicked twinkle in her eye when she drives my car, or when she sees an Elise.

Sadly, I remember when she used to look at me like that!

Girlie car, definitely not, although I have to say the pink badges are a nice touch. Although I have a MY00 UK Spec, I did happen to purchase a girlie pink badge whilst having a full SS exhaust system fitted a couple of weeks ago. I just had to......

I know, I know the pink badge is supposed to be for the STI, but I like it !

Don't think the change from Scooby UK badge to the lucious (but lying) Pink badge will change my girlies mind.

Something to do with the suspension which re-arranges your internal organs over every piece of gravel.

Well I bought my wife an Impreza Turbo and initially she wasn't keen on it. Now, after a few months I can't get her out of it.

She hated my Elise which is probably more of a girls car (in styling terms). I don't think you can ever descibe the Scooby as a 'girls car' though. Too mean and difficult to park for a woman (ducks and runs for cover) :-)

Have to say that the Elise is much more fun to drive than the Scooby though! (ducks and runs for cover again, no smilies this time)

Lets hope the next MY01 Elise is better looking than the MY01 Impreza!

Hmmm, unlike Scoobies, imported wives are no cheaper than the UK model, but at least the servicing is the same. <Sits back and waits for a slagging>

Pete- Running in a newer model isn't that bad you know. You have a choice of getting it all out of the way in one long session or spread it out over however long you wish. You know... the newer model may be nice n tight when running through your gears and you'll certainly have a smile on your face whatever you do! lol
