Question How can i insure my Impreza + my pug? Please Help

Hi all,
Got a bit of a problem and need some advice.

I'm 21, driving for 4 years and got 3 years no claims.

I've been insuring my impreza fully comp my own name for 2 years with tesco's, which this year costs £1400. Recently i've bought a peugeot 205 gti 1.6 on a G plate.

The problem i've now got is how can i insure both of them?

I'd be using my 205 as my first car and only using my impreza on the occasional weekend.

My father has offered as he is older and has more no claims to put the impreza under his name and put me as a named driver (which i'll then pay for) and me to insure my 205 using my no-claims as my only car. But my father then is in the same position as me, he needs to insure his classic C plate 944 as his 1st car and the impreza 2nd?

Hope that makes sense?

Any advice will be much appreciated.

P.s i dont get internet access until later today to reply.

The only legal way is to have two insurances running side by side.
Some Insurance companies offer "intro bonus" which takes into consideration no claims bonus on other policies, that might be your best bet.
The only problem with other members of your family insuring the car and you being the main driver if this is ever found to be the case by the insurance company then the policy will be void.

My insurance company duplicated my Impreza NCB for the TVR... The only snag was that the NCB couldn't be protected on the second car.

Just speak to your insurance co, most will give you similar discount on your second policy as the first or discount your original policy by a few hundred quid.

www.belldirect.co.uk will insure your 1st car and match your no claims bonus on a second car for you.

Taffy,

I'm in exactly the same boat as you, got a 205 GTi and a Scoob. I run 2 policies through L & V. 205 is about 300 fully comp and the Scoob just under 600. As already stated, I have to insure them seperately, BUT L & V gave me full NCB on the second policy.

I don't know if they'll insure you (due to your age), but give them a bell. You never know

As already said, most insurance companies will work out a good/great deal for you on a second car that you own and insure with them.

One thing to be aware of - if you have third party cover on other cars on your main Scoob insurance, this *excludes* any car owned by you so you can't expect to be insured on the 205 using that. I realise you probably know that, but thought it worth pointing out.
