Sent my tracker/alarm documents to Tesco 5 weeks ago so our car is covered for theft (so kind of important) - I was told they hadn't received them....

The reason where they had gone became apparent last night when I received a phone call from a guy who owned the scoob 3 years ago. He said he had received all the security documents etc from Tesco and did I know anything about it!

Well, Tesco are sure gonna hear about it!!!!!

Idiots!

 

pi$$es me off as they always insist on the originals and where does that leave you if they lose them?

If they had lost it they would never acknowledge they had lost it

I faxed my documents to tesco for the tracker!
I first sent a copy in the post and they claimed they never recieved it so i faxed a copy and all was ok!

 

They done the same with me, but my fax machine prints off proof of delivery

This year on renewal, their price went up, so I cancelled and reapplied getting a cheaper quote lol, they then insisted that my insurance premiums would triple as I had not supplied them with proof of tracker, so one phonecall later its all sorted.

A bit of hassle, but much cheaper than the others I approached.

 

That's the annoying thing - they are cheaper. For me, 25 and the g/f, 24 it's about a grand cheaper than anywhere else. Still I will be looking elsewhere next year cos it's a miracle that I am getting the documents back - the guy owned the car about 3 years ago and could easily have moved house!

Have tried faxing twice and still "they haven't received them".....yeah that's cos you send them to previous owners you idiots!

 

Had the same problem, lost my photo copies of tracker info. so sent them again and they got 'em. Think if you have got the relevent paper work for the tracker then you are covered, irrespective of whether tesco have copies of the paper work

 

I sent them a photocopied set and faxed them just to make sure. They told me they did not require the originals and copies/fax would be fine.

 

They asked for mine twice too. Said they hadnt had them. I stood my ground and said i ahd definatly sent them to which they replied "oh well it doesnt matter"!!!!??????

Seems to be a trend here. Same happended to me, after a year they said I had no theft cover until such documents were supplied. Rang them spoke to a supervisor and made them call Tracker to confirm all fitted and subscribed to, as I was not sending the documents again.
