Default For all you brainy people.......................

Right!

I want to fit a set of 19" Arospeed RS GTs onto my Classic Impreza. Now, most of you know that the Arospeed alloys only come in a 45mm offset so will rub the rear outer arches.

My question is this:

What's stopping me "modifying" the offset to achieve the 53mm (or damn near it) required? Is there such companies that can/will do this? Surely, it's a case of boring the rear of the alloys a further 8mm. I think even 5mm deeper will do the trick.

I know that you'll then be contending with rubbing in the inner arches but surely if the diametre of the alloy is the same width as the prodrive ones, there wouldn't be a problem?

Any ideas/advice? Just don't want to modify the arches as I'll need to get them painted as the paint will crack as soon as you try to roll them!

I'm sure that I've seen these wheels fitted to a few classics on here

IIRC drb5 had them fitted to a well lowered RB5 without problem

But wasn't there some quality issues with these wheels?...laquer flaking off or something

oh and by the way, they look gash in my unasked for opinion
