Wheels and tyres for winter.
OK, I've done a search.....
After the multiple "the car fell off the road" threads of last winter. I'm investigating tyres (and wheels) suitable for colder temperatures without going for an out and out snow or M&S tyre. The car is currently on 18s 225/35 goodyear F1s which I like lots. they also work well in the rain.
So will going for 17s with 205/45s or 16s with 205/50s benefit enough to go to the bother of changing them around? Thinking is that I'd swap 1st December and swap back after mid-March.

I've got 205/45/17 Toyo Snowprox for winter use. Bag of spanners handling on normal dry roads but in the snow they are great.
Usually put them on in December and off in April.
Have got me to work and back in some appalling conditions, the DCCD also helps
