You stand a better chance of getting a response by posting here (http://www.scottishscoobies.com). Most of the Scottish contingent resides on SIDC now.

A good price from motorpoint, although as loing as you are aware they are from cyprus i beleive and you may have to add the extras like alarm etc to bring them upto uk spec.. go for it though.. good price..

Forgot to say that my parents bought from motorpoint derby and they were great, except the measly part ex they offered them, but their margins are small so haggling just doesnt occur as they know they can sell them by the bucket load at the prices they quote

good luck

No alarm, no underseal, might have different spec to UK WRX.

Also don't expect your local Subaru dealer to be very interested in servicing and/or warranty.

The resale value will also be lower and you might have issues with insurance.

Very cheap though! ;)

No underseal, does that mean the car doesn't come with the 6 year anti-corrosion guarantee??

Seems like buying a euro-import ain't much more benefical than your UK dealer :-(

Euro import is OK, Cyprus isn't in Europe which is where the problem lies. Cheap car though.

Cyprus is now in the EU (and has been since May this year).

I recently bought a WRX wagon from Motorpoint Glasgow. I would highly recommend the service that I got from them.... excellent.

I knew that I would have to get an Alarm and the car undersealed, the alarm was not a problem, I can recommend the guy that fitted mine, I did not get Motorpoint to do it, because you can arrange it cheaper yourself, ( and get a better spec.)

I took my car to local body shop who are highly acclaimed to get the car undersealed, and the chap put it up on the ramps and explained that it was already fully undersealed, so don't believe everything you read on here about them not being sealed.

My car is from Malta, and as far as I know all of Motorpoint Scoobs originate from Malta or Cyprus, because they were not in the EEC until March this year. (they got them at a good price that way). Now that they are part of the EEC, you are covered by the same warranty and anti-corrosion guarantee as UK, but you need to contact the supplying dealer in Malta to register this and also Subaru UK, (can be done by e-mail and is no hassle at all).

To summarise:

Why pay £4k more for a UK spec. WRX when you can get the same car from EU, and in my case Motorpoint offered me £800 more for my trade in than my local Subaru Dealer on their car that was 4 grand dearer to start with.

It will definitely be a MY04 car unless they are now stocking MY05, but I can't see it yet. Phone them up and ask them to confirm what model year it is.
