I was sick and tierd of looking at the dull blue grill badge on my MY03,

So I started looking for a Pink replacement !

I got one from scoobyparts, (a pink i badge) It was OK ..... but it wasn't the same quality as the OE part.

Then I found a few OE pink badges on e-bay, but they were £30 or more !!!

I then had a brain wave ............... !

If you take off the original blue badge, and turn it over (looking at the back)
Take a small piece of 500 grit wet & dry, and carefully rub away the blue paint, but leave the silver stars !

Once you are through the blue paint you can see the clear perspex.

Make shure that you remove all of the paint, check this by putting the badge FACE UP on a white sheet of paper.
Any blue bits left on will show up later, so make shure it's all off !

Clean & dry it well,
Then you can paint it any colour you like

I used the wife's nail varnish ......... don't laugh !

The colour was FUKY FUISHIA, .............. by Maybaleen (because i'm worth it !)

I have to say, it looks like the proper job ! and it's free !

But if your other half wont let you use her beauty products !
You will have to go and buy your own.

I can see the headlines now ............. SUBARU drivers cause a shortage of PINK nailvarnish .

Pink badges aren't gay enough for me

 

Holy mother of god ! ................ what is that ? Candy Apple paint ?

 

nah,...just used a bit of glitter,laquer and touch up paint




and its a darn sight faster than any stinkin' pink badge,let me tell you

I like the I badge.

 

I've done nail varnish and also enamel paint, but both have faded to a very pale pink after about a year.


Anyone know of a paint that's light-fast?

I paid nearly fifty quid for that badge and you've killed it!!!!!!!

 

I did mine in a very glittery nail varnish,
looks great on my silver bugeye !!
