I am currently considering buying a new WRX from Motorpoint UK can anyone who has bought a Subaru from them share their experience or offer advice good or bad, especially in relation to warranty alarm system etc.
Would greatly appreciate any advice from others before I go ahead,
many thanks.

Gregor..
Welcome to Scoobynet mate..:D Get ready to open the wallet and get a car that drinks petrol and cash like Darth Vader on Steroids :D
Difficult question you have asked at the moment as I gather Motorpoint Scooby's might originate from Cyprus. From May 1st they are going to be part of the EU and therefore several thorny warranty issues might change...
Time will tell...
Cheers

Gregor - If you're a cash buyer you can heavily discount a new WRX from a UK dealer. Tins have the WRX at 18643 which will incl Cat1 alarm and full 3 year warranty.
Try calling one of the enthusiast dealersa such as Stan Palmer or Simpsons.

I got my Company Scooby from Motorpoint (Derby) about 11 months ago. Some points to note:
- I didn't get a service book. Not sure where/if you can get one from Subaru.
- No Subaru warranty at all.
- One year Motorpoint warranty was included in the price (not sure how good this warranty is, as I've not had reason to claim).
- Price advertised was 16,499.00, but Cat 1 alarm was another 400.00 and then there was a valet charge plus some other stuff that took the price to just over 17,000.00
- The boot was full of Scooby brochures! They must've chucked them in the car before it left Japan!
Overall, I have no complaints about Motorpoint. Buying from a Scooby dealer wasn't an option for me as my company car budget was 17,000.00 dead. Luckily for me, my company doesn't care about length/type of warranty.

I bought my STi 03 (Ver 8) from Motorpoint Burnley last Aug. Cost £21.599 cat 1 + trakker £545.00 fitted, locking wheel nuts £25.00 (I think) total £22.169. I can mod it to my hearts content with it not having a Subaru warranty. The car would have cost me maybe £3000 more from a dealer and IT'S THE SAME CAR! Yes it does have underseal and everything else that a uk car has. I spoke to IM recently about imported cars and so long in has a cert of uk comformaty and it's registered after the country has joined the EU it will be covered by a 3 year subaru warranty. In Malta's case 1st May.
Things you do have to bear in mind, resale value will be less than a uk model, you paid less for it so your not going to get the same at part ex resale time.
