Does anyone know of a mobile phone bracket design that will sit next to the heater controls on an MY02? I don't want to drill the dash, but the only ones available from dashmount etc. either obstruct the cup-holder/fold-down radio or the air vent. I'm sure someone posted a picture (which I can't now find) of one placed in the 'sensible' position lower down clear of the all-important cup holder....this issue must have come up many times....!

Any help appreciated,

Cheers

I re-used a Dashmount (coz they are sooo expensive) from my old Forester (same dashmount as classic) and cunningly mounted it on the silver radio surround.

The original drill hole on the dashmount is exactly the same size as a projection about half way down the silver surround. I just opened up the hole a little on the dahmount and pushed it onto the projection.
The mount is pushed away from the suround so doesn't hit the cup holder (phone bracket also angled).

www.brodit.com have brackets that mount down to the left of the lighter. ProClip is the brand, they are available in the UK.
