View Full Version : SIDC Goes to The JAPS Show - Stoneleigh Park 4th April
muddy 01 March 2004, 23:16 The SIDC are pleased to announce that we will be in attendance at this years show:
JAPANESE AUTO & PERFORMANCE SHOW
Date: 4th April
Venue: NAC Stoneleigh Park nr Coventry, Warks.
Admission: £8 adults, under 14 free.
Another new show to the events calendar, this time dedicated to Japanese marques.
The show is to be held in 2 superb indoor halls plus outside display areas.
Expect to see many of the Japanese car clubs on show, plus traders and a car for sale section and a Champion of Champions concours competition.
Each of the Japanese Car Clubs have been given an allocation of 4 cars from their club to display inside the halls.
We will also have a club stand area outside for those not lucky enough to be inside.
Indoor
We have been allocated 4 car spaces indoors at this show (The same as all the other car clubs)
The aim of this is for each car club to display the best cars they have in their club.
Therefore the Indoor section is only available for SIDC members only.
Because we are limited to only 4 spaces- my aim is to put it to a vote.
If you are interested in displaying your car Indoors at this show, please email me a picture and full description of your car.
The cars will then go to a panel for selection (SIDC Committee).
I would Ideally like the following cars : 22B, P1, Type R, Classic, NewAge wrx/sti.
Outdoors
There will be trade stands outside
Carclub Area
Not quite a car club area, but it's inside and their calling it Secure Parking.
Basically it's indoors and open to all Japanese car clubs.
It's basically a "Club Carpark".
It is a show area, where visitors to the show walk around, as much as the main part.
They've classed it as a secure carpark, to keep costs down (If the organisers class it as a display area they will be charged)
Car clubs will be grouped together.
We have 10 spaces provisionally in this area. (possible more if required)
I will probably issue a carpass of somekind so you can prove that your in that area.
If you are interested please post below.

muddy 26 March 2004, 19:15 I have found out by the organiser's that due to an unfortunate double booking the JAPS indoor show will not be held at Stoneleigh.
The new Venue is:
Warwickshire Exhibition centre
Leamington Spa
Don't worry though it's only 4 miles down the road from Stoneleigh so not a major disaster.
(Only Disaster is the advertising campaign for the show has Stoneleigh as the venue)
They will have marshall's at Stoneleigh all day re-directing people to the warwickshire exhibition centre.
The show has changed a little due to the venue change.
There is still an INDOOR section; so i will still require 4 cars for this.
If you have put your name forward the car selection will be made this weekend.
INDOOR section has it's own Show and Shine/concours competition (Hosted by the organisers).
Outdoors
They are now classing this as an outdoor JAPS (Similar to JAPS at Thoresby)
We will have a dedicated Club stand. (Along with other clubs)
There will also be an Outside Show and Shine competition (Hosted by the organisers).
So that's it.
If your interested please post below:
