Is it the MAF friendly (later) 65mm version, or the bigger one that flows better but needs a remap?

Looking at it I would yes, pipe diameter is reduced just before the MAF to get correct scaling I assume. It was bought Sep last year so is relatively new.

APS Cold Air Intake (http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/wrx/my01/hfa.htm)

The same unit apart from its 68mm not 65mm so it flows more air, pipe is also black and filter is a larger BMC unit. The APS drawings also show how it fits.
