Default Has anyone got the new 3 gauge pod from ETS Racing?

Has anyone seen this 3 gauge centre pod?

http://www.ets-racing.pwp.blueyonder...pods%20004.jpg

Seems like a reasonable price £49 delivered!

Just wondering what the quality is like?

Thanks
Dean

Does this fit a classic or new age? Can you give me the telephone number of the supplier please.

Thanks

Nomad,

What are you alleging here? For the avoidance of any doubt, either state your complaint or stop the insinuations if you know what I mean.

ETS Racing's contacts are on this page - http://www.ets-racing.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

No address though.

(edit - strange the link to the pods no longer works, and all mention of the pods is gone?)
Cheers,
Nick.

So where do we go to get these pods? I've got 3 gauges that need a home and I was going to get them from ETS but it doesn't look good. Also the ETS ones or at least the pics are on Ebay at the moment and seem to be going for alot higher than £49.

I'd drop ETS a mail to find out what's going on.

what is nomad on about????
nomad said to me he's produces all the pods on the market, they all come from him, as the ETS one is similar to the one he alleges to make, he wants to sue as he says its in breach of his patent,
although after a quick search, the pod is not patented and does not fall into the category of things that can be patented, nomad racing or any pods are not listed at all on the patent site, even his gauges are not copy protected,

some of his PMs to me are below, i think his attitude stinks and SN does not need a ***** like this.

its quite easy, everything we design we patent, all the other pods on the market are made by us even though they are sold by J spec, jw racing, scooby clinic etc, they all come through us, we love this kind of stuff, it makes us a lot of money. martyn boston nomad racing

i've seen both, they do look similar but not the same, the one from JW is longer at the front, one is bigger and rounder at the sides, the curves from the top to the back are also different, also the JW one has three big dimples running across the top,
SN is for us, not for one company to try stop another selling similar parts

i think the mod has put a fair point forward

been looking for a orignal "defi" pod and been told off jamie at jw-racing that there around £170 but they do a "defi style pod" for £69.that's the magic word "STYLE",nomad seem's to think that these pod's were his idea so why is outlet's he's supplying selling them as "DEFI STYLE" for????? WHY use someone else's name to sell your work/idea,M3 is BMW but you can get any M3 style sideskirt's and M3 style mirror's for any car you also have,,,,,WRC style,DTM style,BOMEX style,RALLY style,VEILSIDE style,PRODRIVE style,STI style it goes on and on,,how has he made his pillar pod's,DEAD EASY ,get a normal scooby pillar trim put some pod's in and make a mould not very hard,,,, he didn't do it for scratch he just used the normal piece of trim and added the pod's,BOMEX also do a pillar pod for the mr2 or is nomad going to take credit for that one aswell, has any one got a phone number on web site for defi to see what opinion is,,,how can he do a copy of a defi and sell it as "defi style"but no one else can,

as warwick has said, gonad racing claim to have patented a defi style dash pod, a claim which has not been backed up at all, there is no mention of them in the patent office in newcastle, the woman working there said, anyone could reproduce any of their gauges and they have no rights to stop them,

this is the person your dealing with when you buy parts from gonad racing.

I cannot take sides on this, so will simply state that Nomad should either respond to this to either restate their objection clearly, or offer some form of apology for their allegations.

Derek, if all is good will you be reinstating your web pages?

I'll wait to see what Nomad say, but in the mean time please keep it civil
Cheers,
Nick.

we dont need to go into the ins and out on here !!!
it really doesnt matter if you have heard of us or not , if ANYONE copies a design that we have patented we will sue, that is end of story , we produce loads of stuff for a lots of companies, we protect ALL our designs, this is the last word from us, the next words against this company is through our solicitors. chiark by all means re instated their copy, we have all the info we need. as we stated originally . they copied our product and we will protect our interests . nomad racing ps ets still awaiting your company details

First off, on the legal front. I am not a lawyer, but...

I do not believe that you can "patent" something like this. For starters, you cannot patent something that someone else has already made. I believe Subaru may have prior art on the idea of putting a pod on a dash of an Impreza? You could claim copyright and claim that someone is infinging, but the burden of proof is on you to show that the product is a copy of your product.

Secondly:
I haven't done anything to their "copy", so I can't "reinstated it". I haven't yet moderated any post on this thread or taken any moderator action to any post on this thread.

Finally:
This thread seems to serve no positive purpose. Nomad are using scoobynet as their ground to raise a serious allegation against a competitor that may lead to legal action of one form or another, which is not the purpose of the board. Please take this up with Derek (Fundimental/ETS) and keep it off the BBS.

Cheers,
Nick.
