Hi guys,

This is my first post on your forum, I'm actually from the states and am trying to find some information that I'm sure you'll be able to help me with.

As you know we recently received our MY02 WRX (your 2001) and a few of us in the states are already starting to hit high 12 second 400M times. What we've found is that our injectors are what have been limiting us.

What I want to confirm from you guys (those who can help) are a few questions.

a: our WRX injectors are top fed high impedence 420CC units.

b: what are the STI injectors? Some one had mentioned they are SIDE fed high impedence units?

c: Are there any other car manufacturers injectors that will work in the new age impreza? (Supra, RX-7, 300ZX, etc.)

d: where are some places I can buy upgraded injectors for the new age impreza, and receive them quickly.

I appreciate your time ladies and gentlemen,
Jorge (RiftsWRX)

You can use 600CC RX-7 injectors, good for 400Hp at the wheels applications.

800CC are great, but only use them for drag racing.

Please note that the stock fuel rails are the next biggest limiter to fuel delivery. You will need to mod this to stop the lean burn of cylinder rear cylinders, without fixing can cause piston melt down.

Dan:

Thank you! Can you be a little more specific as to which year(s) RX-7 injectors will work on the WRX? In our case the RX-7's last years were around 97'ish. Also IIRC the RX-7 for us had 2 550cc primaries with two 700 or 800 cc secondaries that would come on at high RPM. Both I take will work and fit in our rail fine?

Also you made mention about rail modifications. Can you point me in the right direction on where I can start to research that?

Thanks a bunch!

We (Scooby Mania) can get a range of suitable uprated injectors for both phase 1 and phase 2 Impreza engines.

480cc, 550cc, 660cc (coming soon), 740cc, 850cc being some of the more readily available ones.

Some of them as Dan says are injectors from other makes and usually need additional parts to allow them to fit correctly.

Hi Jorge,

Your car will run Phase 2-type injectors.

Cheers,

ok.. thanks for all the help I've gotten on this off of the BBS.

Final question... some people mentioned that you have to possibly drill out parts of the rail to get this to fit..

Can anyone shed some light on this? Say I was using the RX-7 TBII injectors.

Who has actually done this?

Thanks!

Mike,

what does a set of 480ccm injectors for a MY98 (UK-spec) cost?

Are they easy to fit?

greetings
ric
