Would IM help (even though Im out of warranty) as the slap is a build fault of the engine ? (with very low mileage!)

 

i very much doubt it as they will probably say that you should have got it done sooner but it is always worth a try as they might do it out of good will

 

Advice from my local dealer was "ring Subaru direct. Explain the problem and see if they will authorise your dealer to do it under warranty." He reconned you stand more chance this way than asking the dealer to put a claim in himself. I would say it was well worth a try on 31K.
