Anyone know if the foglamp outer cover can be replaced on an MY00? It has got a stonechip in it and the lens has gone all, well, foggy!

Dealer says it needs a new lamp - nearly 50 quid :-(

Also anyone had experience with clear lamp covers? Are they any good? Expensive?

I don't Know about replacement lenses but I specified Perspex Headlight and Fog light covers on my MY00 from new having lost several fog lights to stones on a previous car. I have done 6000 miles and all lights are intact. I think the headlight covers were just under 40 quid and the fog light ones under 30.Got Impreza Turbo 2000 written on them, or you could go for the carbon effect graphics ones pictures of both in the accessories brochure I think.

Salesman told me he had ordered clear coveres for mine before the car arrived as he had had two broken fog lamps in a matter of weeks. Cost about 35 quid. Also had the headlamp ones with impreza written on them again about 40 quid.

Worth the money IMHO. You only need one light to smash as above and they have payed for themselves.

Just a thought robman have you put a thread in the wanted section. A lot of people swap the fogs for driving lamp and the fogs are put on the shelf in a garage. May be able to get a set for a few quid .
