Please help with my ABS problem
I have a 97 WRX and have found that some bright spark has taken out the bulb for the ABS warning light. Now, the ABS does not work anyway, the wheels just lock and the car skids so I checked the following after searching this board.
I made sure none of the connectors were loose under the bonnet and under the rear seat and that the fuse for the ABS was still in place. All is well.
I have also measured the resistance of all of the sensors (I know they should all be within a certain value from past experience)
NSF= 1070 ohms
NSR= 1100 ohms
OSF= 1021 ohms
OSR= 1070 ohms
So are these within the tolerances for the bosch system on this car?
Also, where is the ECU for ABS? I am wondering if it is damaged or even missing.
Will the missing bulb stop the system from working?
What else can I check?
Please help as this is driving me nuts!!!!!!

Sorted it!!
Right, it was all down to the fact that the end of the ABS sensor on the OSF had broken off. There is a square lug that is fairly brittle on the end and it looks as if a stone got between the sensor and the ABS ring on the hub.
Anyway, after a duff one from a breakers I got one that worked and all is now well!!!
