Just thought I'd let you know about an interesting Scoob to wave at in the Skipton area. Dark Blue V plated chap with a couple of extra mods, like blue lights behind the front grill and a red "Stop" light in the back! I would have waved but for some reason I was concentrating hard on my speedo at the time.

Gilly - the car in question was supplied by my dealer. Spot it by the small ariel on the rear of the roof, hidden lights in the grill and the camera 'in' the top corner of the passenger side windscreen!!

Std UK but with Prodrive performance pack and PIAAs! Unlike a lot of unmarked cars, this one still has the 'scoop'.

Apperantly his 'usual' nicking speed has gone up from 80mph to 120mph because of people wanting to 'have a play'. He nicked a 'playful' EVO6 at 130mph, but only after 8 miles

You have been warned!!

 

Saw this car today on the A65 - he'd pulled a biker over nr the Goat Gap inn.

Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit unfair for plod to use a car you'd want to "play" with as a patrol car?? Is this almost entrapment?

Sounding like an old fart here, but the law's the law, and there's no arguing with it.

Whether they're driving a "playful" car or not, the police expect you to stick within the speed limits (as long as they are)

Don't get me wrong, I break the speed limit now and then. I'm not proud of it, and will take any points/fines given to me without a quibble.

Just following other threads, and some articles I've read in biking magazines, it seems that the police don't always stick to the limits themselves, which comes across as a bit hypocritical and setting a bad example. It was a throwaway comment.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a police bashing comment. I have the most respect for the boys in blue.

 

No problem... I thought you might be implying you may get away with speeding, if the police were doing it themeselves... which didn't sound very plausable. "Well, you were speeding to, officer!" wouldn't go down very well!
