I'm thinking about cleaning my engine bay this weekend. Don't have an outside tap, so it would have to be with a bucket...

I've bought the CD2 stuff from Halfords which seems to be praised on here.

What parts do I need to cover up, really? alarm, battery, intercooler, and what else? do I need to cover up all the electic connectors and cables?

Thank you in advance.

You only cover the IC to protect the fins from damage, but that's because most folk use a hose. If you're careful youd don't need to bother covering the IC - I didn't.

All I covered was the alarm and the alternator. Never bothered with anything else and it's been fine.

Not even the battery? That would be nice, as the battery, especially around the connector, is disgusting!

nope, not even the battery. If you're worried, just cover the positive terminal (and the negative if you're even more cautious).

Brun,

Did it start & run O.K after the mad session with the jetwash ?
No misfiring , Coughing or spluttering, Mines always a 3 cylinder version when its jetwashed.

keep it running while your doing it that way it will dry quicker and also if it does stall and its some thing you've just gone over you know where to start looking to fix it.
