Head gasket on Audi A4 1.8SE

Just been told that the misses audi needs a new head gasket, any of you guys no if this is a major job and how much.,....

We had this problem, it ended up needing a full top end rebuild.........
Audi Main Dealer, final bill was circa 2grand!!
Out of interest, how many miles has the car done??

Yep, I hope not mate!!
Mine was sitting at about 85,000-90,000 when it went, we were pretty surprised, not expecting this from "An Audi" and its apparent reliability!!

Do VW/Seat/Skoda use the same 1.8 engine?....if so get a quote from them.....
