Wink

I think those thinking of £30k are dreaming.............
This *is* a special car - something most people won't drive or own..

There is a "Touring" version on www.QV500.com for about £50k. Some other fairly nice motors for sale on there too. Anyone got a spare £700k to lend me for a Mac F1?

Cool

I drove Goodwood in a 2.7RS about three years ago. Have to be brutally honest and say that i couldn't see what all the fuss was about.

Then, upon my request, the instructor took me round. Christ on a bike. When they're in the hands of somebody who knows exactly what they're doing, they're awesome. But 100k? Can't see why anybody would want to pay that. For the exclusivity?

30K LOL - This is an original 2.7 RS. Possibly the most collectable Porsche of the last 30 odd years!!

The only other one I found for sale recently was up for $147000!

Lovely car BTW. £100K would be easily obtained I reckon.

One here for £13.5k.

OK, it's a replica. But surely it's 9/10 of the experience for 1/10 of the money?

Years ago I went along to a Porsche track day at Mallory, and there was a bloke there with a 1973 lightweight RS. That was simply awesome. It's my brother's dream car, and he'd just built up the courage to ask the guy for a passenger-ride round the track when we noticed it really was light-weight... only had the driver's seat in there!

We did get a couple of "flying" laps in Chris Millard's Porsche Turbo (he won the B'ham Super-Prix several times in it), and that was well fast. The only car there faster was a BMW Touring car which had gate-crashed the event.

The RS was lapping about 2 or 3 seconds slower than the Beemer. Like I said, "awesome", especially when you consider the age...
