OK so now my cars been sorted and it cost less than i thought I'm considering putting a decated DP on it

Other than the DP what considerations do I need to make

Had a 3 -2.5" open neck SS down pipe fitted yesterday and all I can say is

WWWWOOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!

Why did I wait so long ?

You *might* need to do something with the boost control to keep spiking in check when the weather gets colder which *may* induce overboosting.....

Rock solid boost control because its an RB5, not an STi7.

...yeah 'cos nobody ever had any problems with a PPP + Decat downpipe and overboosting did they?

Nothing cleaning out the wastegate and surrounding pipework didn't fix and even then, only after a dealer got generous with the oil filling at service.

97/98 cars were a bit more sensitive.

I've been thinking about fitting a de-cat downpipe to my RB5 WR Prodrive.

What sort of power increase would I expect?
Does it make the car noisier?
What's the best downpipe out there?

Alternatively, would replacing the PPP ECU with a standard MY99 and going for a TEK2/3 be a better option?

confused - please help!
