Not sure if this really qualifies as a major project but i've tried this on my97 with some noticeable results. The kit details are here:

http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/msgofast/ictiltkit.html

Michael South doesn't make these kits any more but he kindly sent me the instructions. Will fit any classic from MY97 to 00.

I can e-mail photos for those people who can make their own or supply complete kit including spacers, bolts and instructions for £15 inc p&p.

If anyone is interested let me know.

How did you measure the improvements?

Do you also have an i/c splitter installed?

Wondered if i was going to be asked that one!

Didn't actually use any measuring equipment for air temp so it was a bit subjective. The first drive after fitting did feel as if there was an improvement although couldn't be precise.

As for the splitter Michael Ferris is starting producing these again soon so have put in an order.

Have you tried this kit with any measurable gains - Michael South mentions an 8 degree drop in intake temp which sounds impressive.

I have a beautifully and lovingly created set of spacers and bolts (thanks Jim) but haven't had the time to fit them as yet, when I do I will be measuring inlet temps though.

I fitted one of Mr Ferries' splitters about 2 years ago and I thought (again very subjective) that it produced an improvement, could just be a placebo effect though.

There are cheaper ways of making these, i've seen people suggest using steel washers, bending the support arms or hacksawing lengths of bar.

But by the time i've had the spacers (alluminium) workshop manufactured, got the anodised bolts (diferrent lengths), postage, packing, full colour instructions and some of my time with orders there's not much in it really. And i wouldn't want there to be as it's for scooby enthusiasts.

I don't mind sending out the instructions for those people who can make their own or can supply a good quality kit - basically whatever is easier.

David,

I'd happily pay you £15 for the bag'o'bits, if it means less time in the garage and more time on the road.

Send me a mail (address in profile and we'll sort it out.)

cheers,
