Many of us will be off on our summer holidays soon and will be leaving our Scoobies parked up for long enough to flatten the battery.

Do we inform Tracker?

Do we lock the Scoob and find the battery flat when we get back?

Do we leave it unlocked to save hassle on our return?

how long are you going away for, i didnt use my car for two weeks, and it was fine, started on the first turn

 

Whatever you do, don't park your car in one of the privately-owned airport car parks. They cram cars within inches of one another and use their yob staff to shuffle the cars around whenever someone returns and needs their vehicle extracting. I noticed mine had an extra 3 miles on the clock, and that's a massive amount of stop-starts to move it a few feet during the fortnight, and especially annoying when the most engine wear is done in the first minute after start up.

Take your tax disc with you as well.
May put them off taking it for a "battery charge up spin" on the public road, and may help get it stopped /spotted if nicked.

 

Tracker are only interested if you have monitor or better, just tell someone whos looking after youre pad to ring there no if your scoobs gone!!

 

If you have a clifford alarm, then the power usage is cut automatically after around 3 days (I think)

In light of this being the only power consumption device running whilst the car is parked, the battery should last months, not weeks

run it low on petrol remove the tax disk & number plates, leave it in the garage & get a skip delivered to the drive way, then start to put junk in the skip.

thats apart from the swapping the leads to if it does run its like a pig etc etc etc

 

cmon guys just bring em round to my house and i'll look after them, i'll even give them a nice run for you - only ones with 300+bhp please

Enable the 'superlock ' feature on the sigma , that way if its at home and they get your keys while you're away they cant start it without the pin code.
might help a bit .

 

Take the ecu out and leave it with a friend or family.

PS Back today. Started first time after two weeks. Stored in mates garage.

He reckons that the speedo is faulty as each day about fifty miles got added......wierd or what?

And all of the petrol has evaporated out of the tank!

Has this happened to anyone else?

Same problem with mine when I leave it at my Dad's - Funny how his Diesel S80 does the opposite when in the company of the Scoob
