Sold the Scoob (267bhp) a few months ago and have just bought a 3month old Clio Cup for £9250 (6k miles and mint).. The car is superb, much more fun than the Scoob, feels so much quicker to 70, although it isnt. Its a go-cart on wheels I havent had soo much fun in years !! Around the twisties I could loose a scoob as the feedback from the Clio is better, lift of oversteer is progressive and controllable where it was dangerous in the Scoob.
The torque steer is entertaining and the brakes lock easily with no ABS, must practice braking techniques !!
I am getting 35mpg on average, even filled up and worked it out manually as I didnt believe the computer.
Not knocking the Scoob as its in a different league, from 70mph not much could touch it..
If you get chance to test drive a Cup give it a go as you will be surprised.

I'm 6k miles and 4 months into Cup ownership and a previous Impreza owner - there are quite a few on here that have done exactly the same

Lord lucan here here !

I sold my STI3 on Saturday for a new Clio 172 - the sti was very very fast - but the clio is more fun - its not as quick but you can just chuck it into a corner and it just grips and grips I am converted !

I gave a Honda S2000 a shock this morning too it was neck and neck I though it would pull away but it didnt ! Once the clio hits third gear the power just oozes in and in and in and in .

No regrets at all !!!!

Mr Lucan

How goes it! Glad you are happy with your new car chap, it seems all the old faithfuls are leaving the Scooby Paddock... sad but evolution I suppose.

Mail me offline, would be good to hear from you.

Had mine about a month - replacing stolen MY00.

Great fun to drive, and seemed to keep up with the Scoob's okay on the last Dales run. Girlfriend driving it a lot at the moment and showing 41.1mpg on computer!!

Fortunately it hasn't rained much since I got it because it seems impossible to drive quickly in the wet...

Still miss the Subaru as an overall package though - much more grown up to drive and felt a lot less fragile.
