Picked up my 03 Impreza WRX

Strapped on a load of extras and top security, all for the price of a UK sourced car.

Had to wait a bit to get it but it was worth it, I have not stopped grinning since I got it.

I can recommend the top service from Bill & Dean, these guys really care for their customer.

Hope this does not seem like an advert, because if the deal had gone pear shaped I would have named and shamed

TOP GARAGE TOP BLOKES!

Bought three cars from dean great service and they dont forget you when you call in unlike other dealers. I traded in my escort cosworth for the scoob, got a fair price even though i had bought it from them 12 months before.Went back and bought a clio cup for the wife another good deal. Hats off to Billy, Dean and Barry.

Yeah is nice to get that sort of service, we don’t often get it here in the south, it was worth the train fare to Yorkshire.

oh and did I for get the blast driving it back down the M1.
Note:- speed limits and running in taken in to consideration

If anybody is thinking of buying a car I would be happy to post more details.

But I don’t work for them, Just A WELL (lane) pleased customer!

I will post some pictures if anybody is interested in seeing it?

Ajax...nice to hear you got a good deal with these guys. I'm picking up my brand new WR Blue WRX from them tomorrow night and can't wait. They've fitted a CAT 1 alarm and tracker system for me too. All in price was a fair saving over getting a UK car and your right they seem to be a really nice bunch of blokes, I'll refrain from saying too much until I actually get my hands on the car ! Once i've got it I'll be back on here and post my results. Fingers crossed though it'll all turn out great.
Just one thing though, how many miles did your car have on the clock when you picked it up ? I only ask as mine had 60 miles on it before they put the alarm and tracker stuff on which they said they'd have to drive the car over to the alarm specialists, etc. Don't really want the whole "new car experience" to be tarnished by picking up a motor thats got over a 100 miles on the clock. My concern is that they wont be driving the car as carefully as i would have bearing in mind its not run yet or anything. I'm sure i'm worrying about nothing but i'd be curious as to find out what mileage yours was showing ?
One last thing are you going to bother getting the PPP kit done ? if so get in contact with me because i'm having an ongoing chat with the Prodrive guys regarding getting the kit put on. As it stands they're telling me i've got to take the car to Holland (originally from there) and have it fitted otherwise i'll lose the waranty. Problem is that none of the dutch dealers know anything about the PPP kit, let alone how much it's gonna cost and when they can get there hands on it.
Lemme know what you think, if enough dutch sourced wrx owners get together we may be able to influence prodrive into letting us get the kit put on by a UK dealer.

Integrale m8 i dont think they will be giving your car a hard time on the road.Mine had 35 miles on it which included the run to wakefield for the alarm and tracker fitting. Good bunch of lads im sure they will treat your car like you would.

integrale: It had about 80 miles on the clock.
This was because it was driven from Hull docks not brought on a transporter because of the bank holiday, and also was driven to and from Wakefield to get Phil at RAM, to put the alarm/tracker on

I paid extra for a Clifford concept 500 and Tracker Horizon at my request.

I don’t think Dean is the sort of bloke to thrash cars and putting some miles before I got it gave me mixed feelings one was that it had not been racked up on test drives and the other was a least it was not miles for me to run it in.

The car still had all the plastic on the steering wheel and seats and looked brand new from the show room.

I had a Magnex 6x4 back box and it sounds a treat.

As for PPP I will look into that after 3 years when the warranties is up and possibly buy a superchip or something like it.

The car is 225bhp and bloody quick, to fast for the road and the speed limits around here.

If you need PPP it might be handy for the track, have it done at first service if you still think you need it.

What did we tell you!

This is a cross post, and might be helpful to you.
--------------------------------------------------
Went into the garage to get my WRX serviced at 1000 miles today, the service man said stick to the service times and don’t put an extra one in, as the Dutch are a bit strict over the warranty’s, he has contacted them recently over other service issues.

So he said comeback at 5000km (3,105) miles) 3 months.

I was reminded at the garage to register the warranty with IM and have done so thanks to midlife-crisis-scooby’s letter

The service dealer is Cross Country Vehicles at Hailey, Oxfordshire, and has been very helpful.

Otherwise it’s all Dutch to me.

Did you get yer mats, im still waiting for mine + gear frame I ordered as an extra, still on back order.

let us know how you are getting on with it, are you going to japfest or the northern big one?

Thanx for the info, i hadnt really given that side of scooby ownership too much thought, although i should as i've already racked up 500 miles since friday night! i've been finding excuses to pop down the shops/neighbours/mates 24/7...!
After reading your thread earlier i've done my letter and copied my docs this morning in readyness for post 1st thing tomorrow.
I havent ordered the mats and stuff yet but will do, did u go 4 the autostyle mats in the end ? if so what colour/style did u go 4 ?
As for the japfest i'm gonna try and get there but the missus is on my case as it clashes with our sons 1st birthday, actually theres an idea ! sod having a kiddies party i could take him to japfest instead !

Another cross post for you.

Wrote the letter to Subaru Warranty Administration, they now want me to send a further document

A copy of the sales invoice from the supplier in Holland to Well Lane Turbo Centre
This was one of the documents supplied by Dean, so I will forward it on to them at Subaru.

Hope that does the trick.

funnily enuff i wrote to them and only enclosed the Euro invoice from the dutch dealer to Well Lane and not the stirling invoice from Well Lane to me. That means they'll probably write to me asking to provide the stirling invoice now !
Did you have any joy finding out about the 1000 mile service ? the only reason not to get it serviced would be if the euro scoobys dont come with running in oil. I can't see that the UK will have a different engine oil after all they're all EU spec.
I'll see what i can find out, likewise let me know if you find anything out.
Cheers.

Dear Sir/ Madam

New Impreza WRX Registration xxxxx xxx (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)

I note that you ask for the original sales invoice from the country of origin. I bought the car new in the UK in Pounds Stlg and I enclose

1. Copy of the original sales receipt.
2. Copy of the service manual indicating the PDI was carried out in an EU Member state, presumably where it was shipped to from the manufacturer.

3. Copy of the EU certificate of conformity validating the VIN.
4. Copy sales invoice from the supplier in Holland to Supplier in the UK

If there is any additional information you require please do not hesitate to contact me.

The service schedule is printed in the Service and Warranty booklet I trust that this is the one to follow:
5000km (3,105) miles) 3 months
15,000km (9,315 miles) 12months
30,000km (18,630 miles) 24 months etc

Please can you inform me that my Warranty is registered and will be valid in the UK?

Thank you for your kind help

Yours sincerely

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++

Service Garage
Don’t do any other servicing as it could be held against you, and anyway it’s not necessary as IM know what they are doing with service schedules.

forgot to mention that i got a letter through today from Subaru UK. All ok, they've confimred that i now have a valid warranty for use at any uk subaru dealership, excellent !. I'll be making a few hundred photo copies of that just in case the original goes missing (nothing to do with the fact that my local dealer said that they wont touch a car they havent sold (!?), pr#cks) can't what to show him the letter)).

schweet....bit of piece of mind isnt it.

don't think i can make the japfest as all my other halfs friends have decided to get married over the next 26 weekends........b#ll#x's !

the car's going in to have the sills colour coded next monday (£100 inc VAT !!!! cheap as chips) and then on the weds it's in for it's 1000 mile service which i debated about as the service schedule says differently, but i thought it best to get done as the PPP kit is going on in 4 weeks !!!! if your interested Subaru in Aalsmeer have at long last sourced the kits from prodrive and are gonna do them for 1900 Euros plus 150 Eurios fitting (about £1500), let me know if you fancy getting it done as i've got their phone number.

Shame about the weddings and all that.

Yep had the sills done and the Mini Side under Spoilers makes the car look skirted.

I have got the Stainless Steel Entry Guards Part E1010FE005 £119.00
On the Subaru site they only show the front ones, but rear ones come with them

Reel nice!

Thanks for the PPP info offer, I will go for a cheep chip in a few years

It's be excellent if you had a pic or 2 you could send me.
One other thing, i bet your car's reg is really close to mine as i think they where registered at the same place about a week or 2 apart. you could alway email me it (along with the pics !!).

Just a note of caution. Some of the guys on here who have EU cars have been told to get the PPP fitted in country of origin or the warranty will not be honoured.

Edited to say - Integrale - YHM

Mine's an STi7 UK. Been there done the import thing with a Seat Leon, but I think the disadvantages outweight the advantages(which is cost obviously). I never seem to keep my cars long, and p\x is a mare with an import, & expensive cars are difficuult to shift privately.

Besides, the gap is narrower now that the exchange rate has fallen.
