Question

Hi,

Looking for recommendations for servicing on my MY03 WRX Euro import. Local dealer is Eaglesham Motors, and I think that Goudies in Paisley are still going?

Anybody any experience with either dealer?

Thanks for the help.

Tom

Or another 20mins drive south will get you to S&S in Ayr.

S&S Services

Excellent service unless you try to wind them up about the cheap cost of euro imports!

S&S also offer SIDC members discounts on parts and servicing, and they can even now supply you with Motul 300v oil if requested when getting your car serviced

some OK, some bad

S&S have a good name, but Ayr's too much of a hassle for me to get too. More Dealers should provide a pick-up service (low-loader, no pilots) like AF Noble.

If S&S collected my car from Motherwell, I'd be happy to change to them. AF Noble will collect it from my office (Livingston), so for the sheer conienience, they get my business.

I've used 4 different dealers in south Scotland over the years (had 3 different scoobs since 1995). Only 2 of these still exist - Eaglesham Garage and AF Noble. I live about 3 miles from Eaglesham but after a few dealings with them got fed up and changed to Nobles. Eaglesham didn't do anything wrong to be fair but lack the investment in the infrastructure and just seem a bit unprofessional. The courtesy car they always lent me, was a 5 year old Clio diesel yet there always seem to be several demonstrators parked nearby which I was never offered.

I bought my latest STi at Nobles and have to say the purchase and all after-sales service has been excellent. They treat me like a valued customer not just another Subaru driver. Its not just round the corner but worth the drive, I'd say.

got my o2 wrx from belgium just over a year ago .took it to s&s for 1000 miles service ,soon as he saw my logbook and realized it was a parallel import i got a very frosty reception, gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back for my next service (7500)i think .got the same attitude and they even wouldnt give me a lift into ayr(2 mins)like they done the first time ,so i had to bimble about for 2 hrs and was not happy.i go to nobles in penicuik and cannot speak highly enough of them .even got a sport to drive about in till my car was ready.give them a call they are very good and dont mind imports.good luck

Guys,

Thanks for the replies. Like BLUENOSEWRX I also have an import, so S & S don't seem like the place to go! To be honest, I would rather not have to drive 50 miles for a service to A F Noble, so I may give Eaglesham garage a call and see what they are like.

It does seem strange that there are so few Subaru garages around the Glasgow area, does it not?

Like has been said before in the past 3 years we have lost - Clarkston Motor Co in Jordanhill & more recently Goudies in Paisley.

There are some independant garages like Browns ? in Hillington(I think)

Just my tuppence worth - there is Drive in Falkirk, reasonable but new franchise had my Scoob serviced there a couple of times and no major complaints. Used Nobles' extensively in the past and it's the best dealership I've dealt with regardless of car - family run business where customer service comes first. They know their Scoobs and always do a good job, also do servicing at the weekend and offer courtesy car so could spend some time in Embra when it's being serviced?

The only official one is

Eaglesham Garage
77 Gilmour Street
Eaglesham
G76 0LH
Tel: 01355 302685
Fax: 01355 303796

Goudies are no longer a Scooby dealer - haven't been for a couple of years. There's rumours of another opening, but you'd need to phone Subaru UK to find out.
