A friend of mine seems to believe there a unit for the playstation designed like a car cockpit,where you can literately sit in the unit mount the TV and console and play racing games.If this does exist can anyone tell me where I can find the info.

I was thinking of building one myself. Halfords have some quality seats in stock, and Champion Timber should provide you with some decent timber to make your own frame.

If only I had a games room..........

 

I built one myself when I lived with my folks but the missus made me ditch it when we moved here. I never got round to adding the car seat (was going to get one from a scrappers), but had sounds, Steering wheel (fixed), mixer, TV on angle, and all inside an old modified wardrobe unit

Yes, they exist.

They are advertised in the back of many PS mags (definatley in offical PS mag but I dont have a copy yo check). Its just a metal frame and a cheap seat, a shelf to stick you PS (or PS2) and TV. I think they are about £100

OK, but The TV will be small and I am sure the novelty may ware off. I would make one that you can bring out in moment of extreme sadness.
