Fax machine that plugs into an ISDN socket?
Yeah - I could sell you "a solution" that uses this technology - trouble is, I think we are charging about £20K for these at the mo.
I reakon the Cannon will be cheaper
(but it won't do backoffice integration, data mapping, transformation and enrichment but then I guess all you want to do is send a fax right?)....
Cheers,
Matt.
P.S. I'll get me coat........

A standard fax machine (group 3) will plug into the analogue port of an ISDN box, just like a normal telephone.
Digital fax machines (group 4) are available but I think you can only send or receive faxes with other digital machines.
I could be wrong mind!

Dark,
Case 1, yes you can plug a standard fax into the analog. port of an ISDN 'box' (router/TA etc.) but that assumes you have a 'box'.
Case 2, most ISDN faxes can quite happily send faxes to other normal PSTN based faxes without problem.
Cheers

Simon, I know but I couldn't resist as that is a part of the business I'm in....you sure you don't want a solution from us then???

Simon,
Don't know if this helps but I used to write Fax software and during testing we had some digital to analogue converters that allowed this. I can think of 2 types but have no idea what they would cost but I think they are fairly cheap. The manufacturers were Anatel and Digitel, Digitel allows 2 analogue devices to be plugged in.
Could probably find out more if necessary...
