The dash lights on my '96 WRX are rather dim, what's the best way to improve it.

Took the dash off already to clean the whole thing but did not really improve matters.

After a while, standard bulbs used in the same position, develop a black coating on the inside of the glass envelope. The only answer is to replace the bulbs with new ones.
BTW: your car doesn't have a dimmer rheostat under the dash does it??

Thanks guys, contacted Gecko and will check under the dash but did this before and could not find a 'normal' switch and also my manual does not mention anything, should I be looking for something special or really deep down the dash/footwell?
