We've got a similar model at work and that too goes through batteries like nobodies business. It seems to be the LCD screen that drains them, try using it without the screen or get some rechargeables

Are they AA batteries or similar?

Best to invest in a set of high capacity NiMh batteries. Might be best to try a specialist photo shop rather than Argos for them.

Or somewhere like http://www.countybattery.co.uk/ that offers 1800Ma ones.

I have a similar camera. You'll find that the cheap power adapters don't work, u need the special Olympus adapter at £70 YES SEVENTY POUNDS.

Buy rechargables and away you go.
