HELP - Can't play video (.mov) files

As above. I can only seem to play .avi video clips and not .mov files!
Windows '98 labels them "video files" and they appear the same in File Manager - except the avi's have a grey camera icon, the .mov's have green.
Can anyone recommend/send the necessary software to run .mov's?
