Another problem!
When I try and restart or shutdown, all I`m getting is "Windows is shutting down"! I left it for an hour last night and it still had not shutdown.
Also, when I boot, restart or shutdown, no Microsoft music/jingle??
Any clues??
Cheers

Possibly a problem with your ACPI drivers, BIOS settings or maybe even a problem with the Windows install/disc.
Have you tried a reinstall of windows, a scandisk/defrag and checked your system to see if there are any conflcts in the device manager?
How old is the PC?

Steve - dunno, perhaps one of the guys on here who deal with networks, desktop support etc might be able to help more (I work in software development, so am not as clued up on that sort of thing as they would be).
You could always check the Symantec website, in the virus encyclopedia to see what the details of that virus are.
