strut braces- any good for scoobs?
done to death no doubt,
have a lower one on the front of my pug 205 gti - stiffened it up beautifully.
what about scoobs? if so which and what type? feel the urge to modify, but lowish on funds.

People seem to be split 50/50 on this
Some say they're a waste of time , others think they do make a difference
I fitted an OMP brace to my scoob and noticed a big difference to handling immediately
However I also fitted Eibach lowering springs at the same time so It would prob be more down to them !!
IMHO get one , they don't cost an arm and a leg so take a chance and see what you think

i do not doubt the benefits as the 205 improved a great deal. i was advised to get the lower one for it, as it provided more benefits than the upper, turret mounted brace.
as i may not buy them in a pair for the scoob, any idea which one is the best one to go for- front or rear?

I would say definately go for the front one, especially if you have a later car/STI model as they have solid rear bulkheads..
I fitted front and rear strut braces at the same time as they were cheap
but given a choice i would have fitted the front one first.
The front strut turrets are under more stress under hard cornering than the back.

Dunno if it made much difference though
Then bought an STi solid rear upper & that did
PTMW! felt so much more stable & planted through corners. Also a good camera mount 
So went & sold CF front top & replaced with alloy Cusco one & added Cusco lower front at the same time. The front seems to be very controlled and less roll through corners & again is solid.
Definately worthwhile IMHO but not sure what difference a rear lower will make - yet to fit it
