i dont think so. i think you ring up tracker and say your car has been nicked and then they can find out there where it is

What i mean is if you dont know it has been driven away then does it mean the tracker does nothing until you phone them.

As far as I know if the car has been started in the correct manner (with keys etc) then the Tracker will not alarm. You will need to call Tracker to start it.

So unless you know it has been stolen it is a waste of time.

What you need is a system that alerts you when the car goes walkies, even with the keys, have a shufty at navtrak.com - their ADR system is the dogs dangly bits!

apparently "retrieve" requires you to ring Tracker.

"Monitor" *should* do just that. Do a google search on tracker monitor and Im sure the tracker site will come up.

If the tea leaf takes your keys you have to call tracker. If they hotwire, tow etc. tracker call you. Simple.

Thats why a decent alarm system is required.

I had a COBRA alarm fitted and a TRACKER MONITOR (tracker retrieve i think you have to call them in any event), even with the keys, you had to key in a 4 digit code to open the doors, (you could just use the key but then the alarm activates anyway). You only have one go at getting the code right, then it opperates a 30 second delay whilst a loud tone sounds, after which if you still have not managed to get the code right, the alarm sounds and in turn activates the tracking system.

If the car is driven with the keys the tracker company will not ring, if the vehicle is towed or tilted they will ring you to warn you that the unit has been triggered.

Tracker Monitor is not that fast

My car was recently picked up by a recovery Vehicle and we manged to drive from Southend to Rayleigh [5 miles] before they rung me on my mobile [1st contact number]to query the status of my vehicle

I have just had a tracker monitor fitted to my car for the insurance company, I sent the proof of instalation to them and they either lost it or the Post office have lost it. Anyone know if you can get another or a duplicate?

Thiefs dont tend to nick cars straight after you get out!!!! and if they did you could phone tracker any way ;)
