Question

Just got GTA3 - loads fine but I've got a graphics problem - no text on the screen!!!

I'm using a Hercules G-Force 2 GTS Ultra card with NVidia drivers (v. 5.01.2001 - XP publisher version)....

I'm trying to load in the Hercules drivers, but when I uninstall the NVidia, XP asks to restart, and upon restarting, the drivers are just re-installed!!!!

How do I disable this auto-install function? or any other ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Thumbs up

Not sure about the installing thing but the text corruption is due to a bug in XP.

If you look at the read me file that gets installed on you program bar along with the game link it will describe the cure (just download a patch from microsoft related to a screensaver problem with XP)

What used to work on older versions of windows is changing the driver to a generic SVGA / VGA etc before uninstalling the nvidea driver. Alternately there is usually an utility to unintall nvides drivers bundled on the DVD from PCG magazine.

Good luck - its a great game and worth the hassle.

Sorted thanks!!!!

Every now and again, the game hangs though, and XP comes up with a hardware error, resulting in a reset........

Oh well, great game though!
