Frayz might be the man for this as i know he has done it please let me know if you find out.

I have read somewhere years ago that you can locate the chip in the casing of the steering column but its pointless having it if its a security feature lol curious .............

If you haven't sorted the key issue: there is a removable chip in the original key that is for the immobiliser. Like ash said you could put it in the column which security wise isn't good or you could buy a little fob type thing and put it in. Timpsons quoted me about £30 to clone the key with a chip maybe worth getting one of those if their chips are removable.

Regardless of the numbers I bet it's a world away from what it was to drive now

Was it ecutek or SD map Martin, mines an SD on but I need at week for something, I find it drives a lot smoother than an ecutek on if that makes sense

It's totally transformed the car Gaz, numbers weren't really important more the drivability on the road and with the toque figure it really pulls hard went for the carberry rom... ALS dual map mafless...

Ye it's a little different mainly down to the exhaust... Was thinking of changing it but we'll see. It sounds like a plane on full throttle though

Cheers mate... Yep keys working now I think Andrew Carr disabled something on the ecu side to allow it to work without the chip. Forgot to ask him but gave the key a try after mapping day and it turned over the car and works perfectly so happy days
