Default New brake discs that don't rust

Need new front discs for my Hawkeye STi. Does any body know of decent ones that don't rust round the hub area?

Hi
Our one piece discs have the centre's sprayed black to stop them rusting

http://66.7.200.85/~godspeed/product.php?id_product=14

Or our 2 piece discs and bells have anodised alloy centres

http://66.7.200.85/~godspeed/product.php?id_product=28

Cheers Ian

We didn't have anyone to do it back then when we made your kit , we have been offering this service for the last few years now , I could clean yours up and get them done but would take about 4 days for them to be done ,

Anodising kits are pretty cheap. With your electrical knowledge, I'm sure you could do it easily enough.

How much, Ian, given that I'll be sending for some discs and pads too, so could whip mine off and send the centres for you to return with my other stuff?
Is it best if I ring you when I'm ready, I'm going to do it when I'm in hospital/recovering and can't drive for a fortnight anyway?
PM me if you want, thanks.

You could always do it yourself with a tin of smooth hammerite and a steady hand

Alcazar can you tell me honestly how you feel the 2 piece disk set up from ian performs,

i was looking at either fitting these discs to my brembo set up but was on another forum and the lad who had them said they were hellish and caused him to have bad juddering when braking, he fitted other discs and it went away so its was defo the disc set up.

now i have used ian for the standard discs before and i had no probs with them but i dont know many people using the 2piece disk set up so your thoughts would be great

I have just worn out my second set, and have had ZERO problems with them, either set, except for pitting on these last set due to the car standing 9 months out of use when it needed the engine rebuilt.

I wouldn't use any others, and am about to order my third set.

If your mate had a problem, why didn't he contact Ian, who would have tried to sort it, even if it wasn't of his making?

First set was >40,000 or so, these are only at <30,000, still meat in them, but pitted at the rear so going to be changed come June, or whenever I get my op appointment and can't drive after for two weeks

I'm NOT hard on brakes, mind, I've got HGV license and had ten years mini-cabbing in evenings, so know a little about anticipation

sweet sounds gd, im also a driver mate, 15yrs HGV,PCV etc. so i only use brakes hard and only when required, try and let the engine and box do the work.

2wks off driving, try 5months mate, thats how long its been since ive been in mine since my last op in Jan this yr, hope to be back driving the bucket in the next few weeks once the mods are done

OK, I've been satisfied with mine, I reckon you will be.

Ian's stuff looks so good it's a shame to put it on a car, it's like car jewellery.
