Default Brake upgrade for my UK 98?

I have a Prodrive UK 98 WR Sport which has a Prodrive brake upgrade (not caliper) jut crossed and drilled disks.

If I want to take a WRX/ STI or other 'upgrade' from someone wanting to sell on their old brakes, what model & year limitations am I subject to?

I am running 17" Prodrive speedlines at the mo..

Does your car have the 4 pots? I would assume that it would due to its year.

I have the same wheels and I run the Godspeed 335mm Discs with the kit that uprates the 4 pot calliper to suit. Good stuff as well.

AFAIK, the 6 pot AP kit fits as well.

I'm not so sure.

If its a 98 with just pad and disk upgrades, it will have two pot calipers.
To upgrade to the 4 pot calipers is easy enough, but this will depend on the type of wheels you have.

If you have Speedline Superturismos (6 x 2 spoke) these will not fit over the 4 pots, but if you have Speedline ST2s (6 thick spokes), these will. IIRC, the RB5 came fitted with a modified version of the Superturismo, whose spokes stuck out more thus clearing the calipers. I think these were called Chronos.

Hope this helps.

I upgraded my 98MY to TSL GrpN disks, 4 pots (second hand - supplied by TSL), DS2500 pads and braided lines.

Stops MUCH better now - I hated the 2 pots with a vengance !!!

You really dont need anything more than the AP 4 pot brake kit.
