does anyone know the diameter and thread pitch etc for the rear brake line bolt that bolts the flexi to the back of the brembo? this is for the rears which im thinking might be smaller than the front which i believe is a 12mm? also does anyone know if these bolts suffer the same problem as the mounting bolts and strip the threads? i was thinking as its brake fluid going through these that they might be steel threaded instead of aluminium for the sake of corrosion? any help much appreciated.
Not generally a problem , the mounting bolts and bleed nipples usually , but not the inlet thread , I have helicoiled a couple over the years , but it is probably only a couple
Cheers Ian
We see quite a few calipers corroded around the inlet , which then causes them to leak as there is not enough of a seat for the copper washer to seal .
Have you had it apart recently ?
Needs looking at to see what's wrong , if you're lucky it will be the washer leaking , if its corrosion around the inlet , it can be fixed by skimming it , but the caliper needs stripping down and splitting in half to do them , should be able to machine it down to a flat surface to get them to seal again
Cheers Ian
