Default 17 inch Oz alloys need tyres

I bought my Scooby classic with 17 inch Black Oz alloys on the front ive prada spec 2s which from various people telling me there no good in the wet.On the back ive got falken tyres and the side walls are on the way out with cracks in them.I have 215/40/17s on at the moment.I have spare 205s at work would they work on my rims or will they look daft. Also the profile of the tyre is 45 the highest I can go? I also have 225/50/17s at work lol.215/45/17 seem to be an odd ball size.Any help would be great

215/40 17" is the accepted correct size to keep the rolling radius the same as OE, so that your speedo and gearing are correct.

A smaller sidewall, or smaller size will stretch the tyre leading to a s,aller rolling radius.

A larger ratio could lead to the tyres rubing on the wheelarch or the struts.

does the tyre pressure sticker on the door frame not tell you what size tyres you'd be running?
