Default front wheel brake disc wear.

Re-MOT, last year I had an advisory:- front discs worn. How is best to measure existing discs pre mot? The car has been sorned, so no further wear. The discs are grooved and the pattern is fully formed but only to a depth of no more than 1mm. Are the grooves a good indicator, if so I'll replace them?
thanks
Trev

If they are our discs , our grooves are 1mm deep which is the maximum wear on the discs , once the grooves have gone , the discs would need changing , most discs give you 2mm of wear overall before needing changing

thanks Ian, can't remember offhand where I got them. think the grooves have 0.5mm, difficult to measure but they are complete. Overall measurement is 28mm so on the minimum.
I'm inclined to run the mot and change them in the spring ready for summer.
