Default Lower arm bushes

hi,

ive just had 2 new tyres fitted and the bloke who fitted them noticed the front lower arms bushes have cracked.

question is do I have both the front and rear arm bushes replaced at the same time ? Or should I just change the lot because none of them have be changed since the car was made.

any recommendations of what to buy also ?

thanks

just replace both bushes with a poly bush, then get it re aligned, no more hassles.

That's it don. It's this one that needs replacing but I'm gonna replace both with some powerflex bushes. They do adjustable ones for £44 after doing some research yesterday.

Forgot to mention that it's the front passenger side bushes that have cracked.

Your pictures are not very good (out of focus), to show any fault, as the bushes are void type.

From what I can see it looks fine.

Hi guys,

sorry to open the thread again.

Had the chance to take both front tyres off to see the state of the bushes and whether the caliper Pistons were sticking. Discovered that one of the piston seals in the drivers side front caliper wasn't in a very good state, the rubber had cracked and was coming away from the piston, the other piston seal the other side looked a lot better. Whilst I was there I took out the pads (on both sides), cleaned the pads, aswell as applying more copper grease.

i did also notice that both bushes (left and right hand side) had a crack along the top and wasn't in the best of states.

looks like I need to replace the seals on the front calipers. Is this an easy thing to do ?

secondly, would the cracked bushes result in the occasional wheel wobble in can feel over 60mph and the reason why I have to have the wheels aligned every so often ?.

thanks

What's your take on oem and poly bushes ?. Mines purely a road car so I don't want any of this nvh I keep hearing about but I also want something that will last but isn't harsh. I'll only be replacing the lower arm bushes so will poly be okay ?.

thanks
