yeah they will fit on the wheels, but not sure about the arches. i know that 245's will rub on a newage... what did you have these fitted on?
rubbing is depending on the width and offset from your wheels and the height of your suspension. For 235 tyres, if your wheels are 8j or 8.5j, Im 100% sure it will not rub at all with these tyres(except you have 20mm wheel spacer on the car). Im not sure about 9j, because I fitted these tyres on my 9.5j (33mm offset)wheels, it does rub sometimes. Thats the reason why I them took off instantly. But I lowered the car a lot, there's no gaps between the arches and wheels. Even now, Im using the 225 with the 9.5J, it also rub a bit but very few time because of the height. So if your wheels are 9.5j with 30+ offset, you have to set your car higher, at least 3 fingers' gap to fit with these tyres.
i have a 2005 type uk sti blobeye, which has the hawkeye setup.
I dont know the offset or width of my rims, they are team dynamics pro race 1.2's, but they were on the car when i bought it, i will take one off to have a look, but i wud assume probably 7.5" wide?

7.5 should be fine, Im sure it wouldnt rub, the best fitment for 7.5 is 225. but you can check it see if it is 7.5j.
