seriously though, you will really struggle to find any sort of decent example for less than £3000, even then you'll need your wits about you to find a good example.

Id say for a good condition impreza (any turbo i.e. uk, wrx or maybe sti) you need to set yourself a healthy budget of around 3500-4k

any less your looking for trouble as they would either be shagg£d or some history behind the car.

If in any case you have that as your budget and cannot increase it by much, then start off with a NA Sport

 

might get a 2.0 NON TURBO for that

 

if you look on things like autotrader or parkers.co.uk theres loads of n/a models for under that.

i got a 1998 white sport with 90,000, two previous owners, fssh, couple sensible mods for £2600 in november 2005

Try Southampton Auctions they had several fresh imports recently that went for as little as £1700 !!! WRXs are coming into the Uk Cheap now but make sure you get it modded to run on our fuel.
Alternatively try for a tidy damaged repaired if you want to buy a genuine UK supplied but you need to know what your looking at,dont buy a bodged repair.
