Thanks. Thought it was about time we had something new to talk about in the welsh section.

One side is rolled the other needs doing when I find a new roller. Mine chewed the cheap thread when I was using it.
Buy cheap buy twice lol.

I was debating trying a set but I don't think they do them in a 215/40 profile though.

That would be great. Getting close now to making a start on the interior.

Just waiting on the brakes and engine parts.

Perhaps if you fit a body kit you may get some more views

Good to see something actually interesting going on.

Default Progress.....

......is slow but progress non the less.

Got my flocked dash back this week.

Made a plate to fix the race cell too, fabricated.

Please ignore the hole. It will be corrected tomorrow. I was sweating like mad, glasses kept falling off my nose and I managed to put the hot gas shield on my forehead.

Trial fitted the cage, fitted the base plates and measured up before fabrication.
They will require a little alterations but not much.

Hopefully sort out the AP brakes this week ready to fit the weekend, along with the AST coilovers.

Tell me about it. Rear doors off for the rear half. Front doors and steering wheel for the front lol.

Plus Motorsport bushes. I'm not expecting any comfort when it's done. Just grip and silver wear lol.

Not attempted it yet. Want the interior painted and front cage trial fitted then it'll go in.

So progress is slow on the RA put progress non the less.

Made a start on fitting the front half of the cage so I can mark the base plates before fabricating into place. Measure twice cut once!!

Had to remove the dash to get the cage in. So much for a dash dodger lol.
I do prefer the through dash ones though.

Started to cut the inner sill rather than shape the mount so it's a neater overall finish.

Back to it I'm the morning. Get the rear half fully fastened then fit the front, then modify the dash to fit past the cage.

Already cut one in half so I can get in and out that much easier lol.

Will post up pics of tomorrow's progress as soon as I can.

Dylan.

Default Hardest 6 months of my life.....

Well progress has been bugger all really hours here and there but nothing substantial.
New job in work, great.
Little one in the house hitting his terrible twos early, arghhh.

Then my father fell ill over a 6 month period finally diagnosed with cancer but by then he was stuck in bed and we had to enjoy our time together in hospital for the next 7 weeks.
He finally lost his fight to come home on January the 3rd.

It's been so hard and anyone that has been to my garage will know my father was never far away complaining about "scoobaroos" and making the best cup of tea ever.
It's been a whirl wind the past week and the only place I've found peace and a time to reflect is in the garage. So I've made more progress the past week than ever but God id do any thing for it to be under different circumstances.

Any way here's where I am in photo's

So basically attacking a battery explosion causing the entire barttery tray to eat every other panel around it.
Then find the rear panel was replced and not sealed properly and that ate itself too!!!

Any way new front panels have arrived awaiting rear from where ever I may find one.

More to follow soon.

Sorry to hear about your father, he was a very nice man indeed and was a real character - someone who once you had met always left an impression in a good way.

I know he thought the world of you and would vehermently defend you to that nosey neighbour you had behind you, your dad was a real gentleman in the truest sense of the word.

Please accept my deepest condolences.

As the son of a miner who succumbed to cancer I can empathise with your very sad loss. I remember talking to your Dad about the lifestyle, ethos and damn hard work that miners put up with. We owe them a debt.

And it really was a top cup of tea

Chin up Dylan and get your 'arris in gear, you have a purpose and something to set your sights on for the future. Thge little 'un needs something to learn his trade in.

Thanks for the comments guys.
He'll be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

The car is progressing although I'm removing more than im fitting at the minute. I'm hoping that by the end of January the body will be done and then it's just a case of rebuilding.

Default Time for the late nights and early mornings.

The dates have been released for the MLR/22B sprint and Pembrey is April 11th. Oh siht!!!

So it's both hands to the pump

Carried on removing the rust and it cost me a fair chunk of chassis rail but I'm glad it's gone.

So I got a full quarter of a friend to replace mine but rather than cowboy it in I stripped it of each and every panel so it'll be a factory finish at the end.

All mole gripped together to check fit and position before being tacked in place.

After an hour of cutting very slowly and using a template from my ra shell outside I think I've got it bang on.

Head light panel fitted to check alignment of all the spot weld holes lol.

Inner wing panel fitted also to check alignment with the spot weld holes and its pretty much bang on.

And from this angle.

Just the tedious task of welding every spot weld

But it'll be worth it to have a rust free ra she'll again.

Still amazes me that a battery leak/explosion has caused all this in the front.
More to come, like I said. April 11 th. There's an engine build to do too and run in and map.
All I have is a rolling shell lol. Arghhh what have I done.

But love it.
